UNIVERSITY OF SZEGED JATIK BUILDING

In favour of modernising the heating/cooling system of the JATIK Building of the University of Szeged the "greenest Hungarian university" decided to realize a wastewater-heat recovery solution. The University has been granted a 100% EU subvention to implement the Thermowatt technology, the main contractor for the engineering realization works as the winning bidder on the public procurement process is Thermowatt Ltd. The heat resource is transported via a 700 m long distance pipeline from the Alsótelepi pumping station.

Operation is foreseen to begin in autumn 2015.

BUDAPEST SEWAGE WORKS FERENCVAROS LIFTING STATION (DISTRICT 9, BUDAPEST)

Thermowatt Kft. as the main contractor consequently to offering a winning bid in the public procurement tender is realizing the 1.2 MW wastewater-heat utilizing heating and cooling system at the Ferencvaros pumping station. 

As the Sewage Works require little cooling for its buildings, the system is connected via pipeline to the nearby building of the Palace of Arts (MÜPA), which would buy cooling energy from the Budapest Sewage Worrks (under negotiation). The system is presently under construction, operation will start in the autumn 2015.

Hungarian Armed Forces Medical Centre – Military Hospital (District 13, Budapest)

Hungarian Armed Forces Medical Centre – Military Hospital (District 13, Budapest): Upgrade and modernisation of the heat supply system located in the hospital’s central building and implementation of a 3.8 MW wastewater heat utilization system.

This system has been operating with outstanding performance and efficiency numbers since August 2014.

Budapest Sewage Works site in Asztalos Sándor utca (District 8, Budapest)

In December 2011, Thermowatt Kft was selected as the winning bidder in the public procurement tender for replacing the existing heating and cooling system of the Budapest Sewage Works’ HQ. The system based on Thermowatt’s technology has been running smoothly at the site in Kerepesi út – Asztalos János utca since November 2013.

MOM Cultural Centre (District 12, Budapest)

It is a wastewater heat utilization system for a services centre and parking facility. The municipality of District 12, Budapest expanded the local MOM Cultural Centre in early 2009. The facility has been the site of Hungary’s first communal wastewater heat-based heating and cooling system implemented by THERMOWATT Ltd. The system has been running with a heating and cooling performance of 0.8 MW to 1.1 MW since April 2011.
